About
William Barley is a second year PhD student in the Media, Technology and Society program at Northwestern. His research focuses on knowledge sharing practices in informal organizations. Specifically, he is interested in how people organize themselves to promote access and sharing of technical information. Within communities, he studies individual and group level strategies supporting knowledge sharing and collaboration. Additionally, he is interested in differences/similarities in practices found in mediated and non-mediated settings.
