About
Jeffrey Treem is a Ph.D. student in the Media, Technology, and Society program in Northwestern University's School of Communication
Treem's research interests include the relationship between technology use and social perceptions of expertise. Specifically, his work explores whether increases in information processing associated with technology result in shifts in social structures and attributions of knowledge. His current projects explore communication in a variety of organizational settings: global work sharing among automotive engineers, task assignment among IT support workers, and communication processes among hospital workers. Treem is experienced in ethnographic analysis and social network methods. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University and a Masters Degree from the University of Southern California.
