About
I am a third-year Ph.D. student in the Media, Technology, and Society program in Northwestern University's School of Communication. I received bachelors degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Science, Technology, and Society from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006.
My research explores emergent group dynamics in computer-mediated environments. Using methods in content analysis, social network analysis, and multilevel regression, I examine how groups in participatory social media environments like Wikipedia and massively-multiplayer online games develop norms and status, employ power and social influence, resolve conflict, make decisions, share information, and adapt over time.
